Wisniewski Pockets 8 Game Suspension

Anaheim Ducks defenceman James Wisniewski has landed an eight game suspension from the National Hockey League for his hit on Chicago Blackhawks' Brent Seabrook. I Still Believe

By Benjamin Massey

I still believe. I believe in the Oilers, most of the players, most of the coaches, even most of the front office. I believe that the Oilers, 16-33 record and nine-game losing streak aside, aren't the worst team in the NHL and certainly aren't worthy of their recent '93 Senators-style swoon.

I have to hand it to Darryl Sutter. He has single-handedly created the strangest 2 days in recent Flames history. After trading Dion Phaneuf to Toronto on Sunday morning, he then went to work on Olli Jokinen.

Engagement Hangover?

By Stephen Smith

Now I know things aren't always as they seem, it's just easier to act that way, but something is up with Mike Fisher. It's not so much that he's slumping or scoring at a lesser rate, as we've all seen how streaky he can be over the past years.

By Richard Loat

This weekend was a big weekend for the Canucks, their fans, the record books and King Henrik himself. Henrik's play has been phenomenal this season. Even when "slumping" on the road he managed to pull things together on the tail end of the trip and end up at a point per game pace.

1 (2) San Jose Sharks 43-14-10 The Shark have won three straight. Nabokov still doesn't look all the way back after his unceremonious exit from the Olympics, but San Jose has the firepower to overwhelm almost anybody.
2 (1) Washington Capitals 45-14-9 The Caps are still winning but seem to struggle more lately than what would be expected. Eric Belanger and Scott Walker have been sparkling additions.
3 (3) Chicago Blackhawks 44-18-5 Give up less than five goals the and Hawks win. Will goaltending be their downfall in the post season? If Andrew Ladd keeps scoring hat tricks, Chicago has nothing to worry about.
4 (5) Phoenix Coyotes 41-22-5 Deadline acquisitions Stempniak and Wolski have scored even more than Phoenix had hoped thus far; helping the Coyotes to three straight victories.
5 (6) Pittsburgh Penguins 40-23-5 Headed into Friday, Pittsburgh had yet to lose in regulation since the break. Does coach Bylsma have another magical stretch run and playoff plan ready?
