I am trying to stay positive for this year. In the past I have been a Jays fan. However, over the past number of years, I have become more of a "baseball fan" rather then a Jay's fan. It is sad. I was 13 years old when the Jays won their first World Series. I can remember the excitement at the time. Over the years it has dwindled away. I cannot see their being more then 18, 000 average for the Jays attendance this season. Once again sad!!
I remember commenting a couple of years ago with some friends that I thought there was a distinct possibility that the Blue Jays may indeed leave Toronto. My friends at the time thought that I was crazy!! So did I at the time to tell you the truth. I don't seem to be that crazy now. If Rogers Sportsnet somehow thinks that bringing back Buck Martinez will somehow increase viewership of the Jays then I think they are sadly mistaken. Should be an interesting year.

Well even at 1;48 am on Christmas Day...Santa is not bringing the Jays a bounty. If... in the next few weeks AA does not deliver...then I suspect we all go away or sign on the dotted line for covert...ops..and give our collective dog tags aka Jason Bourne...and try to remember who we are..Chris wrote on Dec 24, 2009
Who will make the playoffs first: Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Washington Nationals, or Toronto Blue Jays?cyberwanderer wrote on Dec 23, 2009
I agree that there is no longer a guaranteed future for the Blue Jays in Toronto. A decade of neglect by ownership has likely resulted in a lost generation of fans -- the ones who will need to buy the tickets in the years to come. But, sorry, I'm not with you on bashing Buck. He and Dan Shulman once gave us the best booth calls in all of baseball and I'll take half that combo, happily. Bringing Buck back to the booth is the one thing Rogers has done right in recent years aside from agreeing to give up on Rios and sticking Kenny Wrong Way Williams and his Chisox with that massive overpay contract. -- Serves Williams right, trading BJs damaged goods years back -- what 'goes around comes around' (which, if you recall Kenny's infamous back-and-forth trip around the bases one game, seem especially fitting in this case.)Chris wrote on Dec 22, 2009
Watching the Jays l o s e 90 games next season and finish in the basement of the AL East is not going to be the least bit enjoyable. But I'll save myself the bother and not tune in. If I want to be depressed, I can just flip on the news. :)
