In the Long Run, 19 is Better Than 1

There are quiet rumors (if they actually exist) that Tiger and Elin might be working towards reconciliation. (Read Elin willing to take him back.)There is some suggestion that because Tiger is working on his ‘addiction'- all the while foregoing golf - he might be serious about tackling this problem head on. His wife seems to now acknowledge that he has a problem. A disease.

So let me get this straight. Because he had affairs with – at last count – 19 women, it's a disease – an uncontrollable addiction. If he had cheated with only one it would have been, well, cheating. But because there are so many, it's obvious he couldn't control himself. He needs help.

Does this work for all males or just billionaire athletes? Because if this is some kind of panacea for the wandering men of this world, where do I sign up? Full disclosure here, I've never cheated on my wife; either of them. But if I did cheat on her and knew it was either have her end the relationship or cheat with 18 more, which way do you think I'd go?

Now Elin has probably had some time to reconsider the situation as well. With her paltry $20 million pay out and an island in Sweden, she's most likely noticing how quickly the bank account is dwindling without being topped up on a regular basis. I mean, you've got to feed the machine if the machine is expected to continue working at capacity. There is the ferry maintenance; the moat upkeep; salaries for the help; it's not easy being Mrs. Tiger.

And factor this into the equation. If, in fact, Tiger is a sex addict, he must be pretty good at it. So Elin's probably jonesin' for a little something something from the big fella right now. Throw in some postpartum depression and you've got a woman who needs a fix. And who better to provide it than a sex addict?

We all know that Tiger's taking responsibility by attending a sex addiction clinic. (That they even exist makes me laugh). I wonder when he'll get to the step in his program where he has to apologize to people. That should make for great news.

And while we're on the subject of Tiger, wouldn't it be great to be a fly on the wall in the Mickleson household? Yes, Lefty is the consummate gentleman and would never say anything publicly about Tiger but come on! You know in the confines of his own home he's loving this stuff. And not just because he's now the # 1 golfer in the world but because he's never really liked Tiger and a little schadenfruede goes a long way. The most anyone can accuse Mr. Squeaky Clean of is using an old, square-grooved wedge – which is actually completely legal because of a lawsuit Ping filed years ago. Kind of pales in comparison to Tiger and his transgressions, doesn't it?

As long as Phil doesn't become addicted to the square grooves…

Hey , if I use the "N" word repeatedly in a joke, does that mean a black person cant find it offensive? Cuz its supposed to be a joke? Addictions are NOT funny to those that have them or have them in the family. Maybe YOU should lighten up on Thompson a bit. And lets face it, if this is your best humour bit, give it up dude. You should easily find a way to broach this subject in a more humorous vein than this blog. This story DOES have humour potential. You certainly should have been able to do better than this bit. Try again, man, and make it funny at least.

Dude you oughta chillax. (i think that's what the kids are saying...?) You want me to check my facts? What part of your little brain thinks I deal in facts. What part of this latest blog led you to believe any of it is based in fact? It's supposed to be funny. (And one may argue it's not - fair enough - but that's a completely different topic.) That's all, just funny.

Dude, lighten up. Ripkin, I thought it was funny and obviously written tongue-in-cheek.

Rick, Once again Rick you have entered an area that you obviously know very little about, but since that is standard for you I will just make the reply brief since you are unarmed to engage in any meaningful debate. Sex addiction is a problem...period ..so stop trying to generate more talk about something that is personal and should be passed on ..at least for now and until Tiger makes the next move...which he will. I have never been a Tiger fan, but try to show a little respect, decency, class, discretion, good judgement...pick one. As far as Lefty is concerned, once again you blow hot air and postulate an opinion on someone you obviously know nothing about. I won't go into it, but his past is well storied...just ask anyone that spent a bit of time in Vegas...McCown would be an ideal person. Rick..if you are going to post please get your act and your facts together
